Lisa Blair Memorial Garden Donation
Description
The Lisa Blair Memorial Garden honors the memory of our long-time curator, Lisa Tulis Blair. The garden is located on the grounds of the Barnstable Historical Society at the Phinney-Jones House, across from the Sturgis Library on scenic route 6A in Barnstable. It contains wonderful peaceful sitting areas for quite contemplation surrounded by colorful native plants; as well as beautiful flowering trees and bushes donated by Doug Mitchell. Sitting on any one of the benches in the garden you can hear the Cape Cod breezes as they softly move windchimes hanging in the trees. The BHS welcomes any orphaned flora and fauna to add to the garden; if you find yourself with extra plants from your garden – with no where to sprout their roots, please, please feel free to make arrangements for a drop-off at our museum. BHS director and gardener-extraordinaire Jamie Hunsaker welcomes donations of plants to add to our collection. Jamie will also welcome volunteer support spent weeding and planting in the garden. Please contact us by email to consider any gardening donation with Jamie. Monetary donations are also welcome to help support and expand the amenities within the Memorial Garden.
